Georgetown, DE – Two men have been arrested and charged with the murder of a man after barging into his apartment building using a woman as bait to kill him.
That incident at the end of February led to the arrest of Jaron Curtis, 24, from Dagsboro, and Kevin Stone, 61, from Georgetown, on murder and related charges.
As a result of a reported shooting at the Dunbarton Apartments on February 27, the Georgetown Police Department responded to a 911 call regarding a shooting.
Upon arrival at the scene, officers discovered a male victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. According to the preliminary investigation, the victim was a visitor at the apartment.
A female knocked on the apartment door. The victim opened it and invited the female inside. Once the female was inside the apartment, an unknown male suspect opened the door and shot the victim several times. The suspects fled the scene on foot. Emergency Medical Services arrived on the scene and transported the victim to an area hospital, where he died.
After an investigation, detectives determined Jaron Curtis and Kevin Stone to be the suspects in the homicide.
The Maryland State Police and the U.S. Marshalls Fugitive Task Force conducted a search warrant at a residence on Bethel Road, in Berlin on Friday.
Jaron Curtis was taken into custody without incident during the execution of the search warrant.
Kevin Stone, already in custody was also charged with murder.
