Lakewood man arrested for assault and kidnapping of woman in Jackson Township

JACKSON TOWNSHIP, NJ – Jackson Township police responded to an apartment building after receiving a 911 call regarding a possible assault on a child by an adult in December. Police discovered that a female occupant at the apartment was attacked by an unknown male inside a shared laundry room within the building at around 4:50 pm on December 29th.

Since then, Jackson Police Department detectives and the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office have been investigating the attack.

On Tuesday, police arrested and charged Malcolm Hamilton, 26, of Jackson for the attack.

After the attack,the victim was taken to Monmouth Medical Center, Southern Campus, in Lakewood, where she was treated for her injuries and released.

Hamilton was charged with Attempted Aggravated SexuaI Assault, Attempted SexuaI Assault, Aggravated Criminal SexuaI Contact, Aggravated Assault, Kidnapping, and Burglary, all in connection with an incident that occurred on December 29, 2022, in Jackson Township.

On Saturday, Hamilton was still listed as being incarcerated at the Ocean County Jail.

“As the investigation progressed, detectives identified an additional victim in an unrelated incident and charged him with Stalking, three counts of Burglary, and two counts of Credit Card Theft,” the Jackson Police Department reported. ”

“Based on our investigation and the evidence we have compiled, we believe there may be additional unidentified victims, particularly in the Lakewood, Jackson and Howell Township area,” Ocean County Prosecutor Brad Billhimer said today.
