STATEN ISLAND, NY – A 17-year-old previously charged with assault and several weapons charges after shooting a 15-year-old Staten Island boy in the head last Friday could soon be facing additional charges.
15-year-old Steven Estevez died the day after being shot in the head inside an apartment at 72 Thompson Street.
According to police, shortly before midnight on Thursday, February 16, police responded to a 911 call of a male shot inside 72 Thompson Street.
“Upon arrival, officers were directed to 71 Thompson Street, apartment #2A, where they observed a 14-year-old male with a gunshot wound to his head,” police said at the time of the shooting.
FDNY EMS responded to the location and transported the aided male to Richmond University Medical Center, where he is listed in critical condition. The investigation remains ongoing.
