NEW YORK, NY – A 42-year-old man was attacked and beaten with a large liquor bottle in an unprovoked attack by a visibly intoxicated male suspect early Sunday morning.
Detectives with the 5th Precinct in Lower Manhattan reported the attack at around 3:15 am on Sunday when the unidentified suspect approached the 42-year-old man and began hitting him with a large liquor bottle. The victim was struck multiple times and required treatment for his injuries at Bellvue Hospital.
Police said the suspect fled the scene on foot westbound on Prince Street.
The suspect was described as an intoxicated white male with his shirt tied over his neck with his chest exposed. He wore black shorts or boxer briefs and had a beard and long, unkempt curly hair. He had a tattoo on his upper right arm.
The suspect is still at large and police are asking the public for assistance in identifying him.
