NEW YORK, NY – 20-year-old Dennis Cho of Queens has been arrested and charged with the murder of 60-year-old Hyun Sook Cho, his mother.
Police arrived at the Cho family home at 40-24 191st Street at around 2 pm on Friday after receiving a call regarding a reported stabbing incident at the residence.
Officers from the 111th Precinct arrived on the scene to find Mrs. Cho unresponsive and unconscious with multiple stab wounds on her bedroom floor.
Attempts to revive her at the scene were unsuccessful. She was treated and rushed to New York-Presbyterian Hospital-Queens by FDNY EMS. She was later pronounced dead.
A second victim, a 61-year-old male identified as her husband, suffered from a laceration to the hand and several cuts on his head and neck.
Dennis Cho was arrested at the home and charged with murder, criminal contempt, criminal weapon possession, assault, and criminal obstruction of breathing.
