NEW YORK, NY – A 64-year-old woman was assaulted and robbed inside the Sunset Court apartment building located at 245 East 34th Street in Flatbush last Sunday. Today, police released a video surveillance camera photo of the suspect wanted in that incident.
Detectives with the city’s 67th Precinct are asking the public to assist them in identifying the suspect who approached the woman inside the building’s lobby at around 6:30 am.
The male suspect approached her from behind and forcibly grabbed her purse. She tried to resist, and after a brief struggle, the suspect threw the woman to the ground, slamming the front door against her body while she was on the ground.
The suspect then fled the scene. The NYPD reported that the victim sustained injuries to her back and leg and was transported by EMS to Kingsbrook Jewish Hospital in stable condition. The stolen purse contained a wallet, $80 cash, credit cards, and personal identification.
No arrests have been made.
