Police reveal group of moped-bound suspects responsible nearly two dozen Apple headphone robberies

NEW YORK, NY – A brazen group of moped robbers is terrorizing the city, and police have now confirmed the group is responsible for nearly two dozen confirmed robberies Since February 9.

The robberies took place between February 9 and February 18. The suspects, involved in 21 confirmed incidents, used multiple mopeds to drive up behind unsuspecting victims to rob them of their belongings.

The incidents have happened throughout lower and midtown Manhattan. The group consists of four suspects each operating in pairs aboard two mopeds, one red, and one black.

“All 21 incidents currently reported throughout the borough of Manhattan consist of the individuals riding on mopeds, approaching the victim from behind, and removing a pair of Apple Air Pod Max headphones off the victim’s head,” the NYPD said. “No injuries have been reported. The average value of the headphones stolen is $500. There are a total of four individuals being sought, described as males with medium complexions. The individuals are riding on two mopeds, one red and one black, with two individuals per moped. The rear passenger on the moped is the one who removes the headphones.”
