NEW YORK, NY – Police are investigating a shootout that occurred outside a Bronx high school Friday afternoon. According to police, two unidentified males exchanged gunfire outside Mott Hall Bronx High School Friday afternoon at around 3:15 pm.
Police said neither party was struck, and no bystanders were injured during the shootout.
Police responded to the scene at the corner of Washington Avenue and Claremont Parkway, where witnesses say the gunfire exchange occurred.
The gunman had fled the scene prior to police arrival.
Detectives with the 42nd Precinct are now searching for the two suspects. The first suspect was described as a male with a light complexion, medium build and facial hair. He was last seen wearing a black winter hat, a black jacket, red sweatpants, black sneakers and a multicolored backpack. He was last seen fleeing on foot heading westbound on Claremont Parkway toward Park Avenue.

The second suspect was described as male with a dark complexion, thin build, last seen wearing a black ski mask, a white hooded sweatshirt with the word “ESSENTIALS” on the front, white sweatpants and white sneakers. He was last seen fleeing on foot, heading northbound on Washington Avenue, and subsequently entered 3930 3rd Avenue.
Both suspects were captured on video surveillance cameras. Police are asking the public to assist in identifying the suspects.
