NEW YORK, NY – One person was shot and killed by a passenger of a motorized scooter on Monday. Detectives with the NYPD’s 48th Precinct responded to the shooting at around 7 pm in the Belmont section of the Bronx after receiving a 911 call regarding a shooting.
Once at the scene at 689 East 187 Street, police found a victim with multiple gunshot wounds. He was taken to St. Barnabas Hospital by FDNY EMS.
“Two unknown individuals arrived at the location on a motorized scooter. The passenger of the scooter discharged multiple rounds from a firearm, striking the victim multiple times,” the NYPD said today. “The passenger got back on the scooter, and both individuals fled southbound on Beaumont Avenue. EMS responded and transported the victim to St. Barnabas Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.”
According to police, one suspect was a male with a light complexion, last seen wearing a black jacket with the hood up and red and white sneakers. The second suspect was described as a male with a light complexion, last seen wearing a black jacket with the hood up.
No arrests have been made.
