LINDEN, NJ – Police in Linden are continuing to investigate a quadruple shooting that left three dead, including one juvenile and a second juvenile in critical condition Sunday morning.

According to Captain Christopher Guenther, a spokesperson for the Linden Police Department, at around 9:30 am, officers responded to a home on Chatham Place after receiving multiple reports of a shooting at home there.

“At approximately 9:30 am this morning, officers responded to a home on Chatham Place on reports of a shooting,” the department said earlier today. “Officers located two adult victims and a juvenile victim who were pronounced deceased on scene. A second juvenile victim was transported to Newark University Hospital in critical condition.”

A third victim was later identified.

Police believe the shooter is one of the deceased, and there is no further threat to the public.

“I ask all to please keep all in our prayers, especially the child in the hospital,” Linden Mayor Derek Armstead posted on Facebook after the shooting. “There simply are no words to describe the trauma, heartbreak and sorrow that we are all experiencing.”

The names of the deceased were not released at this time.
