26-year-old man latest victim in unprovoked NYC subway attack

NEW YORK, NY – Police in Lower Manhattan are investigating another unprovoked assault aboard a NYC subway train that took place on Saturday.

At around 7:45 am, a 26-year-old man riding on the southbound 4 train heading into the Brooklyn Bridge-City Hall subway station was attacked by an unknown suspect.

Detectives with the 5th Precinct reported the suspect approached the victim and grabbed him by his jacket collar, and a struggle ensued.

“When the train entered the station, the individual dragged the victim to the platform floor and punched him several times in the face,” NYPD DCPI said today in a statement. “The individual then fled on foot to parts unknown.”

The victim was taken to a local hospital and treated for bruises and swelling to his right eye and cheek.

Police described the suspect as a male with a dark complexion, 5’10” in height, and approximately 200 lbs. He was last seen wearing a black hooded jacket with red lettering, a blue and yellow shirt, blue pants, and yellow sneakers.
