Suspect arrested for shooting death of man found in car in the Bronx

NEW YORK, NY – Detectives with the NYPD’s 41st Precinct have announced the arrest of Eric Colon, 30, of the Bronx for the shooting death of an unidentified male victim as he sat in his car on January 30th.

On Monday, January 30th, NYPD officers responded to a 911 call of a male shot at 1180 Union Avenue in the confines of the 42 Pct.

“Upon arrival police discovered a 26-year-old male shot in the abdomen in the passenger seat of a Honda CRV,” the NYPD said in a report at the time of the shooting. “EMS responded and pronounced deceased on scene.  Futher investigation determined that the victim was shot at East 163 Street and Reverend James Polite Avenue in the confines of the 41 Pct and was driven to 1180 Union Avenue.”

NYPD still has not revealed the identity of the victim.

Colon was charged with murder, manslaughter and several weapons charges.
