FT. MEADE, MD – Police arrested a 17-year-old student at Meade High School on Tuesday after he was caught bringing a loaded handgun to the school.
According to the Anne Arundel County Police Department, officers from the Metropolitan Police Department contacted AACoPD officers about an armed subject on the property of Meade High School.
“The SRO assigned to Meade High School quickly identified the student via video and provided patrol officers with his common afterschool hangouts,” police said, “Officers canvassing the area located the 17-year-old suspect near Annapolis and Ridge Roads.”
The student was arrested and charged.
Police said they found a loaded privately manufactured Polymer 80 9mm handgun and approximately 320 grams of suspected marijuana in his possession.
