PHILADELPHIA, PA – The Philadelphia Police Department is investigating after an unknown suspect stole as much as $25,000 from the Philadelphia ENON Tabernacle Church on Cheltenham Avenue.
The robbery took place back on November 12th, but video from the church’s surveillance system was released by police on Monday.
The suspect is identified as a black male.
“Video surveillance from the church shows a male wearing a black coat, pants, sneakers and mask walking through the parking lot coming from Cheltenham Avenue,” detectives said today. “The male then breaks through a glass door to enter the church. The male heads directly to the main office which contains a safe.”
After breaking into the church safe, the suspect fled with between $20,000 and $25,000.
He is described as a heavy set black male wearing a black coat with a hood, pants, sneakers, and mask. He was also wearing yellow and black work gloves and has a black backpack with “BRAND” written on the back of the bag.
