EGG HARBOR – A teenage passenger required extrication after a crash in Egg Harbor on Tuesday that sent two others to the hospital. Firefighters and police responded to Mill Road in the area Tremont Avenue for a single-vehicle crash at around 7:15 am.

“A 2019 Audi A4, operated by a juvenile student (17 years of age) from Egg Harbor Township, was traveling west on Mill Road,” the Egg Harbor Police Department reported. “As the vehicle approached the intersection with Tremont Ave, a second vehicle proceeded into the intersection. The juvenile driver attempted an evasive maneuver and lost control of his vehicle, leaving the roadway to the left, sliding on the grass, and ultimately striking a tree at 6220 Mill Road.”

The driver and rear-seated passenger, both 17, were rushed to the hospital for treatment of injuries. A third passenger had to be extricated by firefighters from the front seat.

“The front seat passenger was e1trapped in the vehicle for approximately 45 minutes until extricated by Bargaintown Volunteer Fire Dept.” The Egg Harbor Police Department said in a statement. “He sustained multiple fractures to his legs and other internal injuries and was transported to Cooper Medical Center to be treated.”
