BURGLARY – 10-10-2022 – On October 10, 2022, CPD Officers responded to a residence in the 400 block of Maryland Ave for a Report Burglary. Contact was made with the victim who reported that an unknown person(s) had entered their residence during the night causing damage and taking replacement windows. Currently there are no known suspect(s). The Cambridge Police Department is requesting the assistance of citizens if there are any witnesses to this incident to contact the CPD Criminal Investigative Division at 410-228-3333. BURGLARY – 10-12-2022 – On October 12, 2022, CPD Officers responded to a residence in the 400 block of High St for a Report Burglary. Contact was made with the victim who reported that the residence she had just purchased had been vandalized and a subject had been observed going in an out of the residence. Officers conducted a check of the residence where nobody was located but found evidence that a subject had been entering in the residence. A witness in the area advised that they had observed a male subject described as a white male enter the residence several times. Currently there are no known suspect(s). STABBING / 1ST DEGREE ASSAULT – 10-14-22 – On 10-14-22 at approximately 1:11am CPD Officers responded to the 700 block of Race St in reference to a Stabbing. Upon officers’ arrival they were able to locate the female victim. The female victim was found to have been stabbed in her back. Dorchester County EMS responded to the scene to render aid for the victim, where she was ultimately transported to Tidal Health Peninsula Regional Hospital in Salisbury.
Information was relayed to responding officers by the victim that she was talking on the phone in the 700 block of Race St when an unknown female subject came up and stabbed her in her back and left the area on foot. A description of the female suspect was provided as being a white female with descriptive clothing. Other CPD Officers canvased the area and were able to quickly locate a female subject matching the description provided in the 400 block of Race St.
Other CPD Officers conducted a search of the travel path from the incident location to where the suspect was located. Officers were able to recover a discarded large knife in a trash receptacle that appeared to have blood on it.
The suspect was transported to the Cambridge Police Department for further investigation. The female subject was identified as Candy Michelle Vigneri. After further investigation by CPD Officers and CPD Detectives, Vigneri was charged, had her initial appearance before a Court Commissioner. Vigneri was turned over to the Dorchester County Department of Corrections on No Bond. Vigneri was charged with the following charges:
– Assault 1st Degree
– Assault 2nd Degree
– Reckless Endangerment
– Alter Physical Evidence
– Obstructing and Hindering
