WHEATON, MD – A young girl was the victim of an attempted abduction on Monday, according to the Montgomery County Police Department
The department’s Special Victims Investigative Division reported that the girl was approached by an unknown male at around 4:30 pm in the 2000 block of Georgian Woods Place in Wheaton.
According to police, the girl was walking in the area when the suspect pulled up behind her in a black four-door vehicle.
“The juvenile victim was walking in the area when she observed a black 4-door sedan with tinted windows pull up behind her. A male suspect got out of the vehicle and approached the victim, speaking in Spanish, and instructed her to get in the car,” the Montgomery County Police Department said. “The suspect reached out and grabbed the juvenile victim’s arm. The victim refused, pulling her arm away and observed a second male in the car. The victim ran from the area, unharmed.”
Police said the abduction suspect was described as a Hispanic male, 5′ 8″ tall and with a thin build. The child told police he was wearing all black clothing and was wearing a ski mask.
A second suspect was inside the vehicle at the time of the incident.
