Two Arrested in Stafford Drug Bust

STAFFORD TOWNSHIP, NJ – Stafford Township Police Department announced the arrest of two suspected drug dealers on Friday.

According to police, detectives concluded a two-month long, multi-agency narcotics investigation that was assisted by the Ocean Gate Police Department, the Barnegat Township Police Department’s Crime Reduction Unit, and the Ocean County Prosecutors Office Narcotics Strike Force.

“The investigation led to the arrests of Marques Belnavis 28 year-old male of Chelsea Avenue in Ocean Gate, N.J., and Edwin Flores 55 year-old male also of Chelsea Avenue, Ocean Gate, N.J.” police said in a statement today. “Belnavis and Flores were both charged with numerous offenses in Stafford Township including, Possession of CDS – Crack, Heroin & Cocaine, Possession with the Intention to Distribute CDS, and Conspiracy to Distribute CDS after a search warrant was executed on their address on Chelsea Avenue in Ocean Gate, and Belnavis’s 2017 Nissan Altima.”

After the execution of the search warrants, Belnavis and Flores were transported to the Stafford Township Police Department for processing, and later transported to the Ocean County Jail pending a future court appearance in the Ocean County Superior Court.

According to the Ocean County Inmate Locator, both defendants have since been released from jail.
