South River Police Blotter: Here’s What’s Happening

SOUTH RIVER, NJ – The South River Police Department has issued the following information regarding several incidents over the past few days requiring police response. These crimes and calls to service were reported in the department’s weekly crime bulletin.

“Our weekly police blotter highlights noteworthy incidents that occur on a day-to-day basis in order to keep our community informed. Please keep in mind that, in the case of any ongoing investigation, we are not able to release certain details and information. In the case of major incidents or investigations, press releases are typically issued at a later date,” the department said in a statement when releasing these incidents.

MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENT, Old Bridge Turnpike on 8/1 @ 1730 hours – Patrol units and EMS responded to a motor vehicle accident involving two vehicles. One individual was treated for minor injuries.

POSSESSION OF CDS, Elizabeth Street on 8/2 @ 1333 hours – A male was arrested and charged with possession of CDS (heroin) a after a motor vehicle stop. Ptl. Mark Kukoda was the arresting officer.

GAS LEAK, Cole Street on 8/2 @ 1803 hours – Patrol units and South River Fire Department responded to a report of gas leak in a residence. The cause was determined to be a malfunctioning stove.

MOTOR VEHICLE THEFT, Causeway on 8/6 @ 1913 hours – A report was taken for a stolen motor vehicle which was left unlocked at a business with the keys in the vehicle. The vehicle has since been recovered in another jurisdiction. The incident remains under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to contact Det. John Kenney at 732-254-9002 ext. 109.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT, Washington Street on 8/7 @ 0329 hours – After patrol units responded to an unrelated incident, a male was subsequently placed under arrest and charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest. Ptl. Matthew McCann was the arresting officer.

GAS LEAK, Union Avenue on 8/7 @ 1540 hours – Patrol units and South River Fire Department responded to a report of gas leak in a residence. The cause was determined to be a malfunctioning dryer.
