Five Shot, One Dead as Gunfire Erupts at Coney Island Boardwalk

NEW YORK, NY – On Saturday, New York City’s famous Coney Island Boardwalk was the scene of a deadly shooting that sent four people to the hospital with gunshot wounds and left one person dead.

Gunfire erupted on the Coney Island boardwalk Saturday night around midnight. In the aftermath, according to the New York City Police Department, one person was dead and four others were shot. The incident happened on the boardwalk at around W 29th Street near the Coney Island houses.

After the shooting incident, the 42-year-old man was taken to NYU Langone Hospital where he later died of a gunshot wound to the back. Paragraph.

Police responded to the scene of the shooting shortly after midnight. When they arrived, they found a 40-year-old woman shot in the leg, a 32-year-old woman shot in the foot, a 46-year-old man shot in the leg and another person who also was shot in the leg.

Witnesses said multiple shots were fired, but at this time the New York City Police Department does not have a motive or not does not know what led to the shooting.

At this time, the New York City Police Department has not announced any arrest and do not have any suspects in custody.
