Two arrests were made on Wednesday in Cumberland County.

CUMBERLAND, MD – The Cumberland Police Department has issued the following police blotter reports regarding incidents that involved police response over the past several days. These incidents were reported and released as-is by the department. The CPD responds to numerous calls per day for police service. This list does not represent all calls for service during that period. The CPD reminds residents that all suspects listed in this police blotter are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

On Wednesday, August 24, 2022, at approximately 9:04 AM, officers of the Cumberland Police Department responded to a Boone Street residence for an assault in progress. Police contacted a resident who stated that James Roy grabbed her and punched her in the back of the head. Officers observed that the victim did sustain injuries. Roy was placed under arrest and transported to the police station for processing. He was later seen by a District Court Commissioner and remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center without bond.

On Wednesday, August 24, 2022, at approximately 10:10 AM, an officer of the Cumberland Police Department conducted a traffic stop on Maryland Avenue and identified the operator as Carlos Little. The officer detected an odor of marijuana emitting from the vehicle. A probable cause search of the vehicle was conducted which resulted in a quantity of marijuana being located and seized. Little was issued a criminal citation and released pending trial at the District Court of Allegany County.
