SUFFOLK COUNTY, NY – The Suffolk County Police Department has reported three more gun seizures during routine traffic stops.
“SCPD officers are hard at work addressing gun violence and recently seized three weapons. A loaded 9mm Glock was seized during a traffic stop in North Amityville and the driver was arrested for Criminal Possession of Weapon,” the department said. “Another man, who was on probation due to previous drug charges, was arrested during a traffic stop and a subsequent investigation led to the seizure of a stolen, loaded Glock 19, a 9mm pistol, as well as multiple rounds of ammunition, and a quantity of drugs and cash.”
A third traffic stop, this one in Coram, resulted in the seizure of a Hi-Point 9mm rifle with the driver now facing charges for Criminal Possession of a Weapon.
