Anne Arundel County Police Blotter: August 2, 2022

GLEN BURNIE, MD – Police in Anne Arundel County have reported the following three arrests that were made on Tuesday, August 2nd. These incidents do not represent all calls for police service and arrests during that period.

At approximately 10:30 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop of a black Honda Accord in the area of Furnace Branch Road and E. Seagrove Road in Glen Burnie. Upon approaching the vehicle, an officer detected the odor of marijuana emanating from the vehicle. A search of the vehicle resulted in the seizure of 1517.78 grams of suspected marijuana, two digital scales, and $4042.00 U.S. currency. The driver was arrested and charged accordingly.

𝐀𝐫𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐝: Darrius Davon Casey; 26-year-old; Glen Burnie, Maryland.

At approximately 4:05 p.m., an officer conducted a traffic stop of a silver Infiniti in the area of Ritchie Highway and Townsend Avenue in Brooklyn Park. A search of the vehicle resulted in the seizure of a loaded .40 caliber Glock 23 handgun, a loaded .40 caliber Polymer 80 handgun, and approximately 577.12 grams of suspected marijuana. The passenger is prohibited from possessing firearms. Both occupants were arrested and charged accordingly.

𝐀𝐫𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐝: Marquise Da’Shawn Stafford (Driver), 22-year-old of Essex, Maryland and Shawn Nickolas Guzman (Passenger) 22-year-old of Baltimore, Maryland.

At approximately 9:00 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a moving violation in the area of Bass Pro Drive and Arundel Mills Boulevard in Hanover. Upon approaching the vehicle, officers detected the odor of fresh marijuana emanating from the vehicle. The officer had the driver get out of the car, and after removing a cross-body style fanny pack from the driver and placing it on the truck, the driver lunged for the bag and struggled with the officer.

After pulling away from the officer, the driver grabbed the bag and fled into a wooded area on foot. The suspect emerged from the wooded area a short time later and was taken into custody. During the subsequent search of the vehicle and bag that was worn by the driver, officers found approximately 720 grams of suspected marijuana, approximately 580 grams of suspected marijuana edibles, seven pills of suspected Baclofen, one pill of suspected Xanax, and two digital scales. The driver was arrested and charged.
