Syracuse Man Charged for Murder of John Turner

SYRACUSE, NY – A Syracuse man has been charged for the murder of John Turning on July 21st.

On that date, at 9:18 P.M.: Syracuse Police Officers responded to the Clinton Plaza Apartment building located at 550 S. Clinton Street, in regards to a shooting with injuries call.

“Upon arrival, officers located a victim, John Turner,” police said. “It was evident that he had been shot. Despite resuscitative efforts by SPD officers, Turner was pronounced deceased at the scene by ambulance personnel soon thereafter.”

Police launched an investigation in the days since, where numerous people were interviewed, and an extensive neighborhood and citywide canvass was conducted. In addition, several search warrants were executed, and the evidence recovered was processed and thoroughly analyzed.

On Thursday, police identified Kevin Pulley Jr. as the suspect and obtained an arrest warrant.

Pulley Jr. was arrested at the Public Safety Building and was taken into custody by SPD Detectives without incident. He was later lodged in the Onondaga County Justice Center, where he is held pending his arraignment.
