91-Year-Old Woman Killed in Crash in Silver Spring

SILVER SPRING, MD – Police are seeking witnesses to a crash that claimed the life of a 91-year-old woman in Montgomery County Monday morning.

According to an initial police investigation, at around 10:08 a.m., 4th District officers and Montgomery County Fire Rescue personnel responded to the area of Norbeck Rd. and Baltimore Rd. for the report of a traffic collision involving two vehicles.

“The preliminary investigation has determined that a grey 2016 Nissan Sentra was attempting to turn left from westbound Norbeck Rd. onto Baltimore Rd. when she was struck by a grey 2015 Volkswagen Jetta that was traveling eastbound,” police reported. “The driver of the Nissan Sentra, Henrietta Gomez, was initially stable when she was transported to an area hospital, but later succumbed to her injuries.”
