CUMBERLAND, MD – A Lousiana man reportedly failed police sobriety tests after he was observed by officers driving recklessly in Cumberland.
According to police, on Thursday, officers of the Cumberland Police Department responded to a report of a reckless driver and motor vehicle crash.
“A concerned citizen advised they observed a vehicle driving recklessly and had followed it to the area of Luteman Road when the vehicle crashed into them,” the Cumberland Police Department reported. “Officers arrived on scene and contacted the operator of the suspect vehicle, Henry Dias, 41, of Metairie, LA.”
Officers observed evidence of impairment and requested Dias to perform standardized field sobriety tests.
During the tests, the officers observed additional evidence of impairment and subsequently placed him under arrest for driving under the influence of alcohol. The officers continued their investigation and determined Dias to be at fault in the motor vehicle crash. Dias was later released on DUI, and traffic related Citations.
