Pennsyvlania Man Charged for Luring Child in Atlantic City

ATLANTIC CITY, NJ – A Yardley man posed as a 15-year-old boy while attempting to lure an Atlantic City child into engaging in sexual conduct.

According to the Atlantic City Police Department, on Tuesday, officers, with the assistance of a concerned citizen, arrested a man for attempting to lure a minor child. The suspect was identified by police as Gerald Colapinto, 65, of Yardley, PA.

“The concerned citizen posed as an underage child on a social media site and was contacted by Gerald Colapinto. Colapinto then attempted to lure the citizen posing as a child and engage him in sexual conduct. The concerned citizen confronted Colapinto and notified the Atlantic City Police Department,” the department said.

At 9:36 PM, officers made contact with the concerned citizen and Colapinto. The citizen provided officers with screen shots and detailed information of communication between Colapinto and an individual purporting to be a 15-year-old boy.

Following an investigation by the responding officers and detectives of the Criminal Investigations Section, Colapinto was arrested and criminally charged.
