Police Investigating Multiple Shooting Incidents in Utica, One Shot

UTICA, NY – Police say two shooting incidents in Utica this week might be related to each other. In one of those shootings, a man was shot and wounded.

Officers were dispatched to the 1300 block of South St regarding a shots fired incident.

“Upon arrival, they located several spent shell casings in the roadway. It was also learned that following the incident, several parties had fled in opposite directions through adjacent yards,” police said. “While the officers were on scene processing the evidence, other units were dispatched to St. Elizabeth’s Hospital regarding a walk-in gunshot victim. It was learned that this male suffered a gunshot wound to his knee area.”

At this time, it is unknown if the two incidents are related, and members of the Major Crimes Unit are investigating the incident and are still gathering evidence and seeking surveillance footage.
