CUMBERLAND, MD- The Cumberland Police Department has reported the following incidents involving police response that occurred between July 1-4, 2022. These incidents represent just a few of the calls made by police during that period.
On July 1, 2022 officers of the Cumberland Police Department served an Arrest Warrant on Austin Hunter McDonald. The Arrest Warrant was issued by the District Court for violation of a Protective Order. McDonald was then remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center held without.
On July 2, 2022 officers of the Cumberland Police Department conducted a traffic stop. Officer’s identified the driver as, Joseph Allen Edmonson. Officers then observed suspected marijuana and a suspected meth pipe in plain view. Mr. Edmonson received a criminal citation and was released from the scene.
Arrest: Joseph Allen Edmonson, age 57, Cumberland Maryland.
Charges: Possession of drug paraphernalia.
On July 2, 2022 an arrest warrant for failure to appear was served on Robert W. Ware. The original charges were for failure to remain at the scene of an accident. Ware is current remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center.
On July 2, 2022 an arrest warrant for failure to appear was served on Julie Marie Jenkins. The original charges stemmed from traffic violations. Jenkins is current remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center.
A Cumberland Police Officer was on patrol when he observed a traffic infraction and stopped the vehicle. The Officer contacted the operator, identified as Ralph Thomas Lloyd. After checking Lloyd’s license status, it was learned that Lloyd’s Maryland Driver’s License was revoked and he was wanted on an active Arrest Warrant out of Garrett County for Fail to Appear for an original charge of Driving on a Revoked License. Lloyd was issued a citation for the license violation and placed under arrest for the Warrant. He was taken to Central Booking for his initial appearance with the District Court Commissioner and held on $7,500 bond.
The Cumberland Police served a Criminal Summons on William Joseph Dibuono, age 54, of Cumberland, MD. Dibuono was charged with Credit Card Theft, Theft less than $100, Theft Scheme, and several counts of credit card related charges.
The Cumberland Police served a Criminal Summons on Julie Marie Jenkins, age 41, of Cumberland, MD. The Summons charged Jenkins with False Statement to an Officer and Obstructing and Hindering after she provided false information when contacted by Police on July 2nd, 2022 during an investigation. At that time, she provided a false name due to the fact that she had an active Arrest Warrant. Her true identity was later learned and she was arrested. The officer applied for charges and the Summons was issued.
The Cumberland Police responded to the 700 block of Greene St for a report of a vehicle that had crashed into a building. Upon arrival Officers learned that operator had mistakenly depressed the gas, rather the brake, causing the operator to lose control the of the vehicle. No injuries were reported and the building was not damaged.
