Police Make Arrest for Attempted Murder in Seaside Park

SEASIDE PARK, NJ – Police at the Jersey Shore have arrested a man suspected of trying to kill a resident after breaking into their residence on Thursday.

Porfirio Serran-Cruz, 38, was charged with attempted murder after stabbing a 39-year-old man inside a residence on O Street. He is also facing charges of possession of an unlawful weapon, burglary and possession of Clonazepam without a valid prescription.

According to police, on Thursday, at approximately 5:15 a.m., the Seaside Park Police Department responded to a residence on O Street in response to a 911 call, where the caller stated that someone had broken into his residence and tried to kill him. 

“Responding Officers found a thirty nine year-old, male victim with multiple stab wounds to the arms, chest, abdomen and groin.  The victim was air-lifted to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune for treatment of his injuries,” the department reported. “He is currently listed in critical but stable condition.”
