57-Year-Old Hyattsville Woman Killed in Pedestrian Collision

CHILLUM, MD – 57-year-old Maria Quinteros, of Hyattsville was struck and killed Wednesday night in Chillum along East-West Highway and Riggs Road.

At approximately 9:00 pm, patrol officers were called to East-West Highway and Riggs Road for a collision involving a pedestrian. Once on scene, they discovered Quinteros in the roadway. She was transported to a hospital where she was pronounced deceased.   

The preliminary investigation reveals the striking SUV was heading eastbound on East-West Highway when it struck the victim. The driver of the striking SUV remained on the scene and was not injured.
