EVESHAM, NJ – A 71-year-old man was killed in a motor vehicle collision Sunday morning in Evesham in the area of Hopewell Road and Deerfield Avenue.

At 10:44 AM, the Evesham Police Department said two vehicles were involved in a crash. The driver, and sole occupant, of one of the involved vehicles, Edward Hensley, 71, of Marlton, was pronounced deceased on scene. Two occupants of the other involved vehicle were both taken to an area hospital for minor, non-life-threatening, injuries.

“The on-scene and ensuing investigation determined that Hensley’s vehicle was traveling south on Hopewell Road and the other involved vehicle was heading north on Hopewell Road,” Evesham police said Sunday night. “Witnesses report that Hensley’s vehicle crossed the lane markings and went into the oncoming lane of travel, which caused the collision.”

There is still an active investigation to determine if any other factors contributed to the cause of the accident and no arrests were made at the scene. The Evesham Fire Department and Virtua Paramedics also responded to assist with the scene and treat the injured parties.
