3-Year-Old Killed, Six Injured in Wheaton Crash

WHEATON – Three-year-old Dreamie Dior Jackson of Silver Spring was killed in a collision at the intersection of Connecticut Avenue and Atherton Drive in Wheaton on Thursday.

Police said the crash occurred at around 7:35 a.m. and 4th District Officers and Montgomery County Fire Rescue personnel responded to the location for the report of a collision involving multiple people with serious injuries.

“The investigation by detectives has determined that the driver of a white 1997 Ford F-150, pulling a 2015 Holmes light-duty trailer, was attempting to make a left turn from eastbound Atherton Dr. onto northbound Connecticut Ave. The operator of a white 2015 Kia Optima was traveling and continuing south on Connecticut Ave. The two vehicles collided in the intersection,” the MCPD said in a statement. “Officers located six patients with injuries ranging from minor to life-threatening. Four of those patients were passengers of the Kia. Two additional patients were passengers of the Ford.”

Police said a child, a passenger in the Kia, sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported to an area hospital where she succumbed to her injuries on Wednesday, May 18, 2022. The decedent has been identified as 3-year-old Dreamie Dior Jackson from Silver Spring, Maryland.
