NEWARK, DE – A victim of an assault and robbery suffered minor injuries on Tuesday while walking in the area of East Main Street on Tuesday.
The Newark Police Department is currently investigating a robbery that is reported to have occurred in the area of 58 East Main Street on May 17, at approximately 11:00 P.M.
“The victim reported that they had left a local establishment and were walking in the municipal parking lot behind 58 East Main Street. The victim reported that they were approached by two male suspects while walking through the parking lot,” the department said. “The victim and the suspects engaged in a brief conversation and both suspects then assaulted the victim, knocking the victim to the ground. The suspects then robbed the victim of the victim’s personal property and fled on foot from the scene. The victim suffered minor injuries in the assault and robbery.”
The current description of the suspects is two males, one was tall and wearing a white sweatshirt or long-sleeved shirt and the other was wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt. Newark Police and University of Delaware Police units searched for the suspects but were unable to locate them.
