Teen and Adult Accomplice Arrested for Shooting Two in Pemberton

PEMBERTON TOWNSHIP, NJ – Pemberton Police officers responded to the area of 190 Kinsley Road on Tuesday after gunshots were reported in the area, according to Chief Jay Watters.

“On Tuesday at approximately 2:25 pm, the Pemberton Township Police Department was dispatched to the area of the 190 to 200 block of Kinsley Rd for gunshots,” Chief Watters said. “It was reported that three subjects with firearms were seen running from the scene. Officers arrived in the area quickly and found two subjects matching the description of the suspects running from the scene behind a residence on Norcross Lane. The subjects (listed above) were detained and three firearms were recovered in the vicinity of where the subjects were found.”

Police said a third suspect was not located and is still outstanding.

Chief Watters said the shooting scene was discovered on Kinsley Rd in the 190 block.

“While officers were securing both scenes, Central Dispatch notified us that two people had arrived at Virtua Memorial Hospital of Burlington County (MHBC) with gunshot wounds which were potentially linked to the gunshots on Kinsley Rd,” Chief Watters added. “A 20-year-old male from Willingboro sustained a gunshot wound to the leg and was transported from MHBC to Cooper Hospital in Camden. A 19-year-old male from Cinnaminson sustained a gunshot wound to his arm.”

Both victims were listed in stable condition.

Police reports show Demarceus was charged with violating Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Possession of a Defaced Firearm and Possession of a Large Capacity Magazine.

Demarceus was lodged into the Burlington County Jail pending a court appearance. The 15-year-old juvenile suspect was charged with Possession of Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Possession of a Firearm without a Permit, Possession of a Defaced Firearm and Possession of a Large Capacity Magazine.

The 15-year-old juvenile suspect was lodged into the Middlesex County Juvenile Detention Center pending a court appearance. The investigation into the shooting is ongoing.
