WILKES-BARRE, PA – A Wilks-Barre mom who held a juvenile at gunpoint after a fight involving her son and other juveniles has been charged by police this week.
According to police, on January 17th, Wilkes-Barre Police Patrol Division officers responded to Parsons Park located on Scott Street and Carolina St Wilkes-Barre PA in reference to a female displaying a gun and holding a juvenile at gunpoint.
“Upon arrival officers encountered a large group of subjects arguing and attempting to fight in front of a residence on Scott Street. Officers were approached by the defendant, who fit the suspects description. She advised that a group of juveniles were involved in a fight with her son,” police said in a report. “At that time a juvenile exited the suspects vehicle and advised that he was forced into the suspects car at gunpoint. She proceeded to drive around with him and then returned to the scene.”
A witness advised that the above-named defendant was observed pointing a gun at the juvenile before making the juvenile get into her vehicle. Officers recovered a black handgun from the suspect’s car. She was taken into custody and charged with Assault, Reckless Endangerment, and other related charges.
