JERSEY CITY, NJ – A Jersey City teen has been charged with murder as the suspect in a shooting of another city teenager.
“A 17-year-old has been charged in connection with the death of Devin Bryant, 15, who was fatally shot in Jersey City on Saturday, February 12, 2022,” the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office said. “The teen was arrested by members of the United States Marshals Service New York/New Jersey Regional Fugitive Task Force with the assistance of the New York City Police Department and the New York City Sheriff’s Office on Sutphin Boulevard in Jamaica, Queens, on Wednesday.”
Police said this is a juvenile matter and no further details would be released, including the suspects identities.
On Saturday, February 12, 2022, shortly after 8:20 p.m., the Jersey City Police Department responded to the area of 112 Myrtle Avenue on a report of shots fired. Responding officers found a male victim, later identified as Devin Bryant, 15, of Jersey City, with an apparent gunshot wound to the torso. He was transported by Emergency Medical Services to Jersey City Medical Center where he was pronounced dead at approximately 9:10 p.m.
