STAFFORD TOWNSHIP, NJ – A shore area man who had been known to deal heroin, crack and cocaine was arrested Thursday during a traffic stop while he was exiting the Garden State Parkway onto Route 72 East, according to the Stafford Township Police Department.
Police with the Stafford Township Drug Enforcement Unit, along with the Atlantic City Metro Task Force, concluded a two-month-long investigation with the arrest of Eric Wiggins, 52 years old from Galloway, NJ.
“The investigation revealed Wiggins as a distributor of Methamphetamine, Heroin, Crack and Cocaine, traveling from Atlantic County to Stafford Township,” the Stafford Township Police Department said in a statement. “After various surveillance techniques and drug purchases from Wiggins, the Stafford Township Drug Enforcement Unit issued an arrest warrant for Wiggins, for 15 drug-related charges. On the above date at approximately 1130 A.M., the Stafford DEU located Wiggins operating his vehicle on the Garden State Parkway North, exiting onto Route 72 East.”
Stafford Township police officers conducted a motor vehicle stop on Doc Cramer Blvd, at which time Wiggins was arrested without incident.
“At the time of arrest, Wiggins was found to be in possession of crack and cocaine and was transported to the Stafford Township Police Department for processing, the department said.
The department said, a court-approved search warrant was executed on Wiggins’ vehicle, which was seized as a result of the investigation. Wiggins was charged with 16 counts of 2nd and 3rd degree possession and distribution charges for methamphetamine, heroin, and crack and cocaine. He was later transported to the Ocean County Jail.
