LONG ISLAND, NY – The Suffolk County Police Department was able to catch a suspected area drug dealer red-handed on Saturday.
According to police, “Sixth Precinct Anti-Crime officers were conducting surveillance of a known narcotics dealer on March 5 when they witnessed him conduct a drug transaction. When the dealer drove away from the location, officers followed and pulled over the vehicle on Route 347, near Mark Tree Road.”
Upon searching the suspect and vehicle, officers recovered two handguns, a Ruger LCP .380 and a Burgo .22-caliber short revolver, along with more than $100,000 in cash and a quantity of fentanyl and methadone, the department said in a statement.
The man, whose name was not released, was charged with multiple drugs and weapons charges as well as Resisting Arrest and Obstructing Governmental Administration.
