Tulsa, OK – Tulsa police are reporting a man has been shot and killed near 56th St. N. and Peoria Ave. According to police at around 10:45 am Thursday morning, police were called out to a shooting in the 800 block of 53rd Street.
“Officers arrived to find 59-year-old James Kinnard dead from a gunshot wound to the chest,” the department said. “Through the investigation, Detectives learned Kinnard was doing construction work on the house when he got into an argument with the suspect. During the confrontation, the suspect fired a shot into the house, hitting Kinnard.”
Kinnard’s son witnessed the shooting and called for 911 for help. At this time, detectives have several strong leads in this case and we anticipate development in the very near future.
