South River stabbing suspect arrested

SOUTH RIVER, NJ – On Friday, February 11, 2022, at approximately 12:21 AM, South River police officers were dispatched to a borough residence for a report of a disturbance. Upon their arrival, they observed two victims laying on the ground with multiple stab wounds each. Medical aid was provided to the victims and they were transported to a local hospital for treatment.

An investigation determined the suspect, identified as 31-year-old Jonathan Deavereaux of Plainsboro, stabbed his ex-girlfriend and her father. Deavereaux was arrested and charged with two counts of attempted murder, two counts of aggravated assault, two counts of possession of a weapon for unlawful purposes, two counts of unlawful possession of a weapon, and one count of a violating a final restraining order.

Deavereaux is being held at the Middlesex County Adult Corrections Center.
