Rand Paul promises full investigation of Anthony Fauci if Republicans win in November

Dr. Anthony Fauci should be praying that Democrats retain control of the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives in November, because he was officially put on notice today by Kentucky Senator Rand Paul. Paul said if Republicans take control of the Senate, he promises there will be a full investigation into Fauci and the National Institutes for Health (NIH).

“If we win in November, if I’m chairman of a committee, if I have subpoena power, we’ll go after every one of [Fauci’s] records,” Paul said in an interview with Lisa Boothe. “We’ll have an investigator go through this piece-by-piece because we don’t need this to happen again.”

Paul and Fauci have sparred during the pandemic as the Senator routinely grilled the NIH virologist over his health guidelines and recommendations.

While neither China nor the U.S. government are committed to finding the origins of the COVID-19 virus, at least publicly, Paul has accused Fauci and the NIH of not only funding gain of function research at the Wuhan Laboratory, but of covering up evidence suggesting the virus was a result of Fauci’s funding and a lab leak from that facility.

Fauci defended himself recently against Paul’s accusations, saying the Senator “kindles the crazies”.

“What happens when he gets out and accuses me of things that are completely untrue, all of a sudden that kindles the crazies out there, and I have threats upon my life, harassment of my family, and my children will have seen phone calls because people are lying about me,” Fauci said.

Paul said Fauci has become the face of the pandemic but is being shielded by a media who won’t challenge the Dr.’s science.

“Fauci represents a lot. I think particularly in the Republican primary, people are alarmed at what he’s done,” Paul said. “He’s become the face…because he’s also become an eager media diva to be on every show all day long telling us what we can’t do and what we can do.”

Paul is also a medical doctor, by trade an ophthalmologist prior to being elected.
