NEW YORK, NY – New York City Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is now attacking one of America’s openly gay female senators, Krysten Sinema after Sinema chose to vote with her conscience and not her political party, against ending the right to filibuster.
“Kyrsten Sinema is about four years into her six-year term and I don’t believe she’s really given a compelling case as to why she should be renominated as the Democratic nominee for the United States Senate in Arizona,” Cortez said. “She has proven herself an obstacle to the right to vote in the United States. She’s not an ally on civil rights. It is becoming contributing to a threat in stabilizing our democracy. She is not standing up to corporate interests.”
“She is not doing what voters in Arizona sent her to do,” she said supporting an opponent in a primary is the easiest decision she’d ever make.
