Woman charged for shooting suspect that left victim in critical condition

PITTSBURGH, PA – At approximately 5:28 PM on January 12, 2022, County 9-1-1 was notified of a shooting in the 800 block of Emerald Drive. First responders found an adult male in the street suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to an area hospital and is in critical condition. Plum Police requested the investigative assistance of the Allegheny County Police Homicide Unit. Detectives responded and initiated an investigation.

County Police determined 38-year-old Crystal Marie Veasey was the person responsible for the shooting. An arrest warrant was issued and served on Veasey charging her with criminal attempt homicide, aggravated assault and tampering with evidence. Veasey is currently lodged in the Allegheny County Jail
