NIH Director says Wuhan lab leak theory is just a 'huge distraction', says virus came from bats
Brown long-eared bat, common long-eared bat (Plecotus auritus). Two hibernating bats in a cellar in winter. Drenthe, Netherlands.

Dr. Franncis Collis, Dr. Fauci’s boss and the head of the National Institutes of Health says while the Wuhan lab leak of COVID-19 is a possibility, he believes the virus was a natural event that traveled from a bat to another species, then to humans.

“We won’t know unless China decides to open up about this,” he said. “This has been a huge distraction.”
