He might be banned from Twitter and Facebook, but former President Donald J. Trump hasn’t stopped ‘mean tweeting’. Today, he took aim at Muslim Congresswoman Ilhan Omar, a radical leftwing progressive who has called for the end of the American alliance with Israel.
A Wall Street Journal article claimed Omar’s antisemitism is institutional and a deep-seeded hate taught to Muslims, which she may not ever be able to progress and move forward in a non-hateful manner.
“I was born in Somalia and grew up amid pervasive Muslim anti-Semitism. Hate is hard to unlearn without coming to terms with how you learned it,” said Muslim journalist Ayaan Hirsi Ali.
Trump on the other hand wasn’t so nice about Omar’s inherently racist personality.
“Congresswoman Ilhan Omar should apologize for marrying her brother, committing large-scale immigration and election fraud, wishing death to Israel, and for essentially abandoning her former country, which doesn’t even have a government—Exactly what she’d like to see for the United States,” Trump said.
Republicans for years have claimed Omar was married to her own brother. This came to a boiling point this week during the feud between Omar and Republican Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene.
“Everything about Omar is a fraud, including her name,” Trump said during a 2019 campaign rally referring to a report by conservative blogger Scott Johnson. “Scott reports that his sources told him, that Omar’s legal husband was Omar’s brother, and that she married him for fraudulent purposes, you mean like, coming into the United States maybe?”
Omar, 39, is now on her third marriage, but her second marriage to Ahmed Nur Said Elmi has been claimed to be a fraudulent marriage in an attempt to get her green card in the U.S. Elmi is rumored to be Omar’s brother.
Omar denied the allegations and media outlets on both sides of the political aisle have tried for years to present their case and facts about her familial connection to Elmi and the matter has never been solidly proven or disproven.
