Suspect charged for June shooting in Baltimore

On June 21, 2021, at approximately 2:43 a.m., Central District officers were dispatched to the 1000 block of Cathedral Street to investigate a reported shooting. The 33 year-old gunshot wound victim sustained non-life threatening injuries.

Central District Shooting detectives investigated the shooting, identified a suspect and obtained an arrest warrant.

On September 15, 2021, 36 year-old Willie James McDonald was arrested and charged with Attempted 1st Degree Murder. At the time of McDonald’s arrest he was in possession of a loaded handgun.

Willie James McDonald is currently being held at the Baltimore City Central Booking Intake Facility.
