WASHINGTON, DC – If you enter the House side of the U.S. Capitol complex and you’re not wearing a mask, you will be asked to leave. If you do not comply and mask up, or leave the complex, you will be charged with trespassing and arrested. It doesn’t matter whether or not you have been fully vaccinated.
That is the new mandatory mask mandate approved this week by Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi. Pelosi issued a memo to Congressional staff and visitors requiring face masks within the U.S. Capitol building on the Congressional side of the complex.
Once you leave the Congressional side of the house into the Senate chambers, you do not have to wear a face mask. Pelosi did not explain the science behind her decision of mandating face masks on only one side of the building.
BREAKING NEWS UPDATE: NANCY PELOSI UNMASKS IN CONGRESS, VIOLATING HER OWN RULE.
“If a staffer, who is accompanying a member, refuses to wear a mask, that refusal should be noted and reported to a supervisor,” Pelosi wrote. “If a visitor or staff member fails to wear a mask after the request is made to do so, the visitor shall be denied entry to the House Office. Any person who fails to comply or leave the premise would be subject to an arrest for unlawful entry.”
Pelosi’s memo was shared by U.S. Congresswoman Kat Cammack.
“In today’s edition of Pelosi’s abuse of power, Capitol Police have been directed to arrest staff and visitors to comply with her mask mandate for vaccinated individuals,” Cammack said.
