Pizza bandit caught after holding up Wilmington Little Caesars

Wilmington, DE – Delaware State Police arrested Ralph E. Pierson, of Wilmington, for a robbery that occurred at a pizza restaurant located in Wilmington, DE, on Wednesday afternoon.

The incident occurred on July 21, 2021, at approximately 2:25 p.m., when troopers were dispatched to Little Caesars Pizza located at 2500 Foulk Road, Wilmington, for a report of a robbery. Upon arrival, it was determined that a male suspect approached a male employee while displaying a firearm.

The suspect placed a note on the counter, which demanded money. The employee complied, and after obtaining an undisclosed amount of cash from the register, the suspect fled the business. The employee was not injured as a result of the incident.

Through investigative leads, troopers identified Ralph E. Pierson as the suspect in connection to the robbery. On July 22, 2021, New Castle County Police Officers initiated a traffic stop on Pierson’s vehicle and took him into custody without incident. A subsequent search of the vehicle lead to the discovery of a stolen firearm, which was also was utilized in the incident.

While in police custody, Pierson was arraigned in the Justice of the Peace Court #2 for the following charges:

  • Robbery First – Display a Deadly Weapon
  • Possession of a Firearm During Commission of a Felony
  • Possession of a Firearm by Person Prohibited

Pierson received a $45,000 cash bail, and is committed at Howard Young Correctional Institution.
