Is New Jersey the garbage state? Hulu thinks so with its own brand of Garden hate

Hulu is promoting its reruns of the former Fox television show “The Mindy Project” which aired between 2012 and 2017. In an attempt to draw in customers, Hulu is using the scene from episode 4 in season 5 entitled “Mindy Lahiri Is a Misogynist”.

In that episode, Mindy slams New Jersey as the “Garbage State” and puts down New Jersey and the men who live there.

“So, when can I get you back to jersey?” asks her boyfriend Ben who lives in New Jersey. “I know a place that’s got the best-fried clam strips. The secret is there’s no clam inside just solid fried.”

Mindy, the New York City snob replied, “That sounds amazing but I’ll probably have to order it for delivery because I am never setting foot in the garbage state ever again. Being late from New Jersey is why i lost a patient and now I have to apologize.”

Of all the scenes during the 7 year run of the show, that’s the episode Hulu is running with to draw you in.
